Accounting Clerk

Reporting to the Finance Manager, the Accounting Clerk is responsible for the day-to-day payable and receivables tasks.

Job Description

Accounting/Finance Responsibilities:

  • Review bills to the company for potential errors and/or discrepancies
  • Review and record employee expense reimbursements and allowance
  • Fill, sort, organize and maintain confidentiality of documents
  • Process cheques, online bank and credit cards payment
  • Prepare bank and credit card accounts reconciliation
  • Conduct cost analsyis
  • Update inventory price in timely manner and prepare inventory report
  • Serve as a back-up for various accounting and administrative functions

Other Responsibilities:

  • Adheres to all Company Policies and Procedures, including Health & Safety Policies
  • Demonstrates good judgment and respects the confidentiality of company and personnel information
  • Deals professionally and courteously with all internal and external contacts
  • Seeks guidance and direction as necessary in the performance of duties
  • Reviews and responds to inquiries from internal and external vendors
  • Responds to customer inquiries promptly and professionally
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Skills and Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or college
  • 1-2 years accounting experience, preferably in manufacturing industry
  • Ability to process a high volume of invoices and expense reports in an efficient and timely manner
  • Able to meet specified deadlines
  • Able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
  • Able to interact with employees and vendors in a professional manner
  • Able to understand and interpret financial statements
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Excellent computer skills including MS Office (Excel, Word, etc.) and QuickBooks
  • Detail oriented
  • Able to perform mathematical computations quickly and accurately
  • Strong organizational skills and multitasking, and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively
  • Strong command of accounting software
